METEC Data Storage Locations
There are a few data storage locations used at METEC used to store different types of data.
Subversion (SVN)
SVN is used primarily for document related storage. Unlike a typical network share, making changes to data in SVN requires a manual process of committing files, rather than dragging and dropping. Read more about SVN usage here.
Research Storage (RStor)
RStor is a multi-terabyte storage solution used across campus for bulk storage. At METEC, its primary use is for large data files. The base path can be found here using file explorer: \\campusrstor1.onefs.colostate.edu\research\METEC

Permissions, Access, and Layout
Both SVN and RStor consist of many sub repositories and sub folders respectively, usually named after projects. All research scientists have access to all SVN repositories and all RStor subfolders. Students must request access to a particular directory with consent from the research scientist they work with or from whoever manages the project.
To create a new RStor project directory or SVN repository, please submit a ticket here.
