Connecting Excel to ODBC

Fresh Connection

Step 1: Navigate to the Data ribbon

Step 2: In the "Get Data" drop down, choose "From Other Sources".

Step 3: Under "From Other Sources", choose "From ODBC"

Step 4: Choose your ODBC connection from the dropdown and click OK.

Reconnecting an Already Established Connection

If you are provided an Excel file that already has a query tied to it, you can re-establish the connection by using the following steps.

Ensure you enable connections by clicking "Enable Content" in the following prompt that should appear in your file:

Once enabled

Step1: Navigate to the Data ribbon.

Step 2: Click "Refresh All". You may receive a message about a Native Database Query, if you trust the source go ahead and hit "Run".

Step 3: In the box that appears, choose "Database" on the left side.

Step 4: Enter your credentials.

You may receive a message similar to this one. If it is a trusted source, go ahead and hit "Run".
