Tips for Troubleshooting Duo
Here are some tips and tricks you can use to troubleshoot Duo issues.
- Always recommend that you run the latest DUO app
- Turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and turned it back on
- Close Duo completely, as this seems to refresh the app
- On iPhone - under DUO - there is a toggle for it to use the cellular network and not just the Wi-Fi network. This is necessary in order for Duo to work all the time.
- Roaming set on - UCSD will send you the codes if you have the app open.
- Most people use push notifications - so have to make sure they are set for Duo to send push notifications
- Do not set your phone to silent as you will not get UCSD notifications or be aware of the setting and check for Duo notifications
- Set permissions to allow for badges and notifications on your iPhone or if on another type of phone set the permissions correctly to allow notifications
- Allow duo to send notifications when in do not disturb mode during work hours
