If Microsoft Teams isn’t recognizing your webcam or mic, check these settings in Windows:
- Start button > Settings > Privacy > Camera / Microphone and verify ‘Allow apps to access’ is On (near the top) and ‘Allow desktop apps to access’ is On (near the bottom) for both Camera and Microphone.

A note for Macs
- If both the built-in microphone and external headset don't work, this is more likely related to your Mac's default application security settings. Please make sure Teams has permission to use the microphone. You can go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > under the Privacy tab > Microphone and check if Teams has permissions
