Use this to connect to your office computer from home
When you are done with your remote desktop work for the day, restart from the remote session, and wait for the restart to finish. Once the power cycles off and then back on, the remote session will be automatically ended and closed.
Find the name of your office computer

On your office computer, click the start button
- Search for this PC, click the Properties button

- Under the Computer Name, domain, and workgroup settings section, find the Full computer name

- This is the full name of your office computer, record it for use later in this article.
Create a Custom Remote Desktop Icon for your Home Computer
- On your Home Computer, click the start button and search for remote desktop
- Click Remote Desktop Connection

- In the Remote Desktop Connection window, Select Show Options

- In the first box, enter the full name of the computer that you found at the beginning of this article.
- In the second box, enter your colostate\eID

In the Connection Settings section, click the Save As button

- You can name this shortcut whatever you would like, however we recommend you name it the same as the name of your computer.
- Click the Display tab, tick the check box to use all monitors, and change the color depth to High Color

- Go back to the General tab, and save this shortcut to your desktop.
For a Mac:
Download this version of Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 from the Apple Store:

Replace the PC name with the name of your office computer.
Note the formatting of the User account: colostate\eID
On the Display tab, change the Color quality to: Medium (16-bit)


Making the Connection
Note
Whenever you would like to connect to your Office computer remotely, you must have Pulse Secure running and connected. For instructions to install and operate Pulse Secure, see How to Set Up Pulse Secure Application
- Double click the Custom Remote Desktop Icon on your desktop

- Select the checkbox Don't ask me again for connections to this computer, and select the Connect button

- Type your eID password (The password you use to log in to your office computer) and click the OK button

- You should now be connected to your office computer remotely.
Ending the Connection
- At the top center of the screen in your remote connection, Click the x at the right of the blue bar. This will leave applications running on your office machine, so if you want to resume working on something, it will still be open when you log in to your office computer.
